Vista is a software for 3D visualization, rendering and animation of projects that revolutionizes the way through which it is possible to show, understand and use all data. With Vista it is possible not only to see the survey model in real time but also to see the project inserted in the existing situation and study its impact, intervene on the project itself, obtaining a different scenery.
Vista is SierraSoft solution for 3D visualization, rendering, animation and presentation of projects. Vista is characterized by easiness, intuitability and accessibility of commands, which let it be used also by users with little experience as far as virtual reality. The tool can be used in the different phases of a project, to study and develop ideas as well as to illustrate, in the most realistic way, all the possible solutions. Vista’s features make it the ideal product for professionals dealing with topography, terrain modelling and infrastructure planning, since it offers the possibility to use projects carried out by ProSt, Topko or other CAD.
Display and exploration of the model
It is possible to position the camera in any point of the scene and use the mouse to explore the project with a real time animation. Vista is equipped with a fast and very handy 3D displayer by which it is possible to watch a project from every point of view, rotating it, zooming on it, scaling it, using mouse and keyboard as usual.
Paths and points of view
Any position of the camera can be saved and become a point of view the user can retrieve at any time. Paths can be built by saving a set of points of view according to which to calculate the 3D path on which the camera will move; it is possible to customize all the position and motion parameters of the camera. Both paths and points of view can be created also from Topko and ProSt planimetry graphic window.
Vista and road design
ProSt road axes automatically become paths on which the camera can move either automatically or manually by using the mouse; the camera motion speed can be fixed or follow the corresponding speed diagram. Vista can position a target object in front of the camera and along the axis, at a fixed distance or at the stopping distance; in this way it is possible to verify interactively all the possible lacks of sight. While the camera shifts along an axis the display is completed by some information (stations, elevations, slopes, speed, distances, corresponding horizontal and vertical element) referred to the position of both the camera and the target object; moreover, a multiple diagram displays horizontal and vertical alignment, speed diagram and the position of both the camera and the target.
Rendering, materials and textures
It is possible to set some materials and textures to the surfaces of the model, thus working on such features as transparency, brightness, etc of the material as well as on the textures scale factor. A wide library of materials and textures is supplied, but it is also possible to create one’s own materials and save them in the library. It is also possible to apply the ortho-photos of the area to the corresponding 3D model.
3D display styles
By managing 3D display styles it is possible to define in advance the mode according to which lines, polylines, points and blocks will be represented inside Vista. It is possible to define whether to extrude or repeat a block along a polyline so as to obtain for example the 3D model of a wall, a curb, or the automatic positioning of lampposts or trees. Blocks or points can be represented in Vista by 3D blocks or by images; in this way it is possible to obtain realistic models with trees, people, etc. Some predefined styles allow to obtain the dynamic creation of such objects as horizontal signs (pedestrian crossing), guard rails and new jersey, as well as vertical signs.
Sky and sun
The model can be completed with different models of sky the user can customize; it is possible to set the position of the sun or calculate it automatically by setting latitude, longitude, day and time.
Images and Videos
Vista allows to capture and save high resolution images; the movements of the camera along the paths can be saved in video formats. Both images and videos can be completed with the insertion of free descriptions and images (logos).
