Datum is a software addressed to surveyors and topographers and, in general, to all those who need to store and manage points whose coordinates are known in one or more reference systems. Datum not only allows to manage points data but also to generate monographies completely customizable by the user.
Datum is a software providing the user with tools for filing, managing and searching reference points in a fast and easy way. Besides, by Datum it is possible to customize point monographies, allowing to provide customers exactly with the survey data in the form they requested.
Data management
By Datum it is possible to set for each point not only identification data (name, place, district, notes, etc.) but also coordinates in different systems (plane, ellipsoid, local, etc) and associate them different photos and /or drawings. Users can define the different system they are going to use and, for each system, it is possible to define the kind of coordinates (plane or ellipsoid) . There is also the possibility to extend a point descriptive data, predefined by the tool, by adding supplementary fields defined by the user. Data are displayed in a table that works in a peculiar as much as practical way, allowing to have access to all the point data without having to open other windows. It is possible to set the data to be made visible in the table, making the visualization flexible according to the kind of data managed (reference points files will display data that differ from those of IGM point files). A small graphic editor allows to represent the points graphically as well as to perform simple meaurement or query operations.
Search and query
The possibility to sort data, group them or filter them from table in an easy and intuitable way make search operations very quick and direct. Queries on points can be customized by the user and saved to be used later.
Reports and monographies
The report system allows the user to build and customize reports, thus obtaining the point monographies as requested by the customer.The tool supplies predefined and customizable report models, but it is also possible to create new models working in a visual environment that allows to select database fields, both texts and images, and then to position and dimension them in the page. The page can be completed with lines, squares, images, texts whose properties (colour, thickness, font, etc.) can be modified. Customized report models can then be saved in the database to be used later , when the actual report of data is performed. All reports can be exported in PDF, RTF, HTML, and DWG format.
Importation and exportation
Some data import and export functions to/from ASCII, TAF, DXF files are available. Datum is perfectly integrated with Geomatics Suite products and it is possible to pass data fromTopko to Datum and viceversa in a direct way without having to use interchange files.
